Late Commodore Buba
The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 13 individuals following the tragic murder of a naval officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba, in the Kawo area of Kaduna.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the incident occurred early Sunday morning around 5:20 a.m. near the Kawo flyover.
The victim, a senior course student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, was attacked while attempting to fix a flat tyre.
“While the officer was changing the tyre, an unknown individual approached and demanded his GSM phone. ”
“When he refused and questioned the demand, the assailant stabbed him in the chest with a local knife,” Hassan told Channels Television.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reportedly reacted quickly, overpowering and killing the attacker on the spot.
Meanwhile, the wounded officer was rushed to Manaal Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
In response to the attack, the police launched a raid in the Kawo area, leading to the arrest of 13 suspects found in possession of knives and other dangerous items.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have stated that they are committed to ensuring justice is served in the case.
