The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recovered a Lexus GS460, 2016 model, which was stolen at gunpoint along the Kubwa Expressway on January 30, 2025.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the recovery, attributing it to swift response efforts and the use of digital tracking technology.

She encouraged vehicle owners to install tracking devices to aid law enforcement in similar cases.

According to Adeh, the police received a distress call and immediately launched a citywide alert, deploying patrol and surveillance teams.

Their swift action led to a high-speed chase, forcing the suspects to abandon the stolen SUV in a remote area in Suleja, Niger State, before fleeing.

“The distress call prompted an immediate response, and our operatives acted swiftly. With the help of tracking technology, we located the vehicle and engaged the suspects in a hot pursuit. Unable to escape the intense pressure, they abandoned the car and disappeared into the area,” she said.

The recovered vehicle is now in police custody, and efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators.

The FCT Police Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
